DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, since its inception in 2008 came with an initial intake of 60 students in UG programme and enhanced its intake to 120 in the year 2012.

  • Always attracted the best of engineering aspirants from all over the country and abroad.
  • Department is effective in inducing skilled and competent Computer Engineers and Entrepreneurs prepared to fulfill the requirements of the industry and society at large
  • Department is well equipped with adequate infrastructure to support academic, research and extra-curricular activities for the all-round development of our students with well-qualified, skilled and experienced faculty members.
  • The Department frequently organizes Hands-on Workshops, Seminar , Webinars, Guest Lectures and Faculty Development Programs in recent trends from Industry Resource for the benefit of students and faculty community.
  • The Department organizes the National Conference – “KITE” every year which provides Research & Developmental opportunities to research scholars and students from various colleges across the country.
  • The Department encourages the students to conduct and participate in extracurricular/ sports activities.
  • COLOSSUS is a two day National Level Tech fest organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The fest receives participation from various colleges across the country.
  • The Department has signed MoU’s with leading IT Industries and International Journals.
  • The Proctorial and Mentoring system is active by meeting students and conducts Parents Teachers Meeting
  • The Alumni network is active and regular meetings are conducted by the Department

POs are statements that describe what students are expected to know and be able to do upon graduating from the program. These relate to the skills, knowledge, analytical ability attitude and behaviour that students acquire through the program.

PO1.Engineering knowledge : Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and computer science and business systems to the solution of complex engineering and societal problems.
PO2.Problem analysis : Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3.Design/development of solutions : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

DEPARTMENT CLUB ACTIVITIES

COLOSSUS

COLOSSUS is a 2-day National Level Technical fest conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Information Science and Engineering. The first edition of COLOSSUS was conducted in the year 2015. COLOSSUS has completed five successful years with the recent edition conducted in the year 2019. The fest receives participation from several colleges in Bangalore and other parts of the state. The prominent events in the fest are Debugging, Coding, Tech Quiz, Paper Presentation, Treasure Hunt, Futsal, Slow Biking, Gaming. On an average, COLOSSUS receives a participation of 500 students every year. Cash prizes are handed over to the winners and runners up. Participation certificates are given to every participant.

KITE

Knowledge Discovery in Information Technology and Communication Engineering (KITE) is a National Level conference conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Information Science and Engineering. The conference accepts papers related to various fields of Information Technology like AI, IOT, Software Engineering, Networking, Data Mining, Algorithms, Image Processing, Cloud Computing etc. The first edition of KITE was conducted in the year 2015. KITE has seen 5 successful years with the recent edition being KITE 2019. Papers are received from research scholars, faculty members, participants from the industry, UG and PG students. Best paper awards are presented. KITE is also associated with International Journals. Selected papers from the conference are published in the Journal. KITE receives participation from various colleges across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
